The Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education and Sports, is dedicated to the management of the higher education sector, both public and private, in the whole region.

Nowadays, the mentioned Department is taking care of a wide range of the Higher Education sector, from graduates degree to doctorate level, including Technical Schools and Education Centres.

In addition, the Department of Higher Education is the administrative centre of the Ministry of Education and Sports, and therefore is in charge of manage, promote and support the higher education in order to fulfill its mission which is to shape skilled academics, researchers and scientists in line with the needs of socio-economic development.

The Ministry of Education and Sports is investing in building infrastructure in the universities as well as improving policies for the public and private sectors, in order to develop higher education both in quantity and quality.
